Eurasian Curlew
Curlews breed in natural bogs and floodplains and on grasslands, with high differences in population sizes and dynamic trends in different countries. After breeding, curlews migrate toward the coast and winter mainly in North-western Europe from June/July to March/April (Pederson et al., 2022).This is our ‘proof of concept’ species, as several members of the HABITRACK and collaborators have already assembled large tracking datasets for this species, with tagging at breeding and wintering sites. There will be no dedicated tag deployment for this species, but a final assemblage of all available data will be used to implement all analyses scheduled in the project.
