Markus Piha

Markus Piha is an ecologist whose research focuses on various bird-related study projects. He is leading the waterfowl monitoring and farmland bird monitoring schemes in Finland, and he is involved in research projects such as assessing the farmland bird indicator, Taiga Bean Goose breeding habitat studies, Barnacle Geese crop damage studies, development of seabird monitoring and integrated population modelling approaches on various bird species. In HABITRACK, Markus studies how habitat needs link to birds’ demography.
