Common Redshank

Common redshanks breed mainly on grassland, inland and coastal wetlands, and moorland. Many of their habitats in lowland wet grassland and moorland are subject to widespread drainage for agriculture (EU Management Plan European Commission 2009b). The European breeding population has declined steeply over the past decades (61% decline between 1980 and 2021, PECBMS). While the subspecies T. t. britannica has been particularly studied in UK during breeding (Mason 2019), no studies on habitat use based on telemetry data have been produced to our knowledge.
